My Consultations
I work with French, English, and German-speaking adults online and in person in Toulouse.
→ Our first meeting aims to assess your situation and needs.
→ Next, I suggest regular 50-minute sessions, usually once a week, online or in person.
→ For some people, a projective assessment might be part of the course of therapy.
→ Group therapy may also be offered depending on individual issues and needs.
When should you see a psychologist?
Psychological suffering can affect us all at some point in our lives:
❖ depression, anxiety, and stress,
❖ historical and recent trauma,
❖ grief, separation, loss,
❖ relationship difficulties,
❖ addictions and dependencies,
❖ difficulties related to sexuality and/or gender identity,
❖ cultural uprooting as a result of expatriation/migration,
❖ work-related stress,
❖ challenges related to parenting and fertility,
❖ issues related to body image and self-esteem,
❖ chronic feelings of shame and guilt,
❖ physical illnesses,
❖ aging,
❖ menopause and midlife crisis.
Psychoanalytically-oriented therapy
I practice a form of evidence-based talk therapy that can effectively treat emotional problems and a wide range of mental disorders and suffering.
This type of therapy aims to explore the underlying dynamics of our symptoms and understand our current psychological and emotional difficulties by placing them in the context of our personal life history.
This type of therapy can help you:
- understand yourself better.
- improve your relationships.
- resolve your inner conflicts.
- set personal boundaries.
- break out of repetitive patterns.
- cope with trauma.
This form of therapy primarily involves talking, which means that sessions are organized around what you would like to say.
At the beginning of therapy, I may ask more questions to get an idea of your situation and the reasons that led you to seek therapy.
After that, the pace and content of the sessions are largely determined by your goals and what you want to discuss.
During your sessions, you will be encouraged to speak freely in order to examine your desires and concerns more deeply.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is psychoanalytic therapy based on scientific principles?
In French, see Leichsenring & Rabung, 2008; Prades, 2011; in English, see Shedler, 2010; Yakeley, 2014; Fonagy, 2015.
Research shows that, regardless of the type of therapy, the most important predictor of its effectiveness is a good relationship with the therapist. Many types of therapy can be effective depending on the individual: it is essential to find the approach and therapist that are right for you.
How does therapy work? How long does it take?
People often seek therapy in order to “feel better,” and indeed, those who consult often report an improvement in their symptoms shortly after beginning treatment.
However, the exact duration of therapy can vary considerably depending on the individual, the issues they are facing, and their goals.
For some, a few sessions may be enough; others will benefit from longer support.
If it took some time for our symptoms to develop, it makes sense that it will also take time to understand and transform them.
Discussing the duration and the eventual end of the work is part of the therapeutic process itself.
What are the differences between online and in-person therapy?
Online therapy offers many potential benefits: it makes it easier to schedule appointments and improves accessibility for those who have difficulty traveling for physical or other reasons.
Scientific studies (de Bitencourt Machado et al., 2016; Lindegaard et al., 2020) have also shown that online psychodynamic psychotherapy can be as effective as in-person treatment.
However, online therapy has a number of unique characteristics. It is not recommended for people suffering from certain serious symptoms that require in-person support. It also presents specific challenges in terms of technology and confidentiality.
If you request or if I suggest online therapy, we will discuss these issues during our initial consultations.
Are your consultations covered by health insurance?
My consultations are not covered by health insurance.
However, some private health insurance plans (mutuelles) may partially cover sessions with a psychologist. Please check your insurance policy for more information.
I firmly believe that money should not be a barrier to pursuing therapy, so if you are unable to pay my standard rates, please let me know and we can discuss possible arrangements.
Why am I required to pay for sessions I did not attend?
Research shows that people who benefit most from therapy are those who attend regularly. Therefore, I require people who consult with me to commit to attending regular sessions, typically on a weekly basis.
I understand that our schedules can change and that there may be times when you are unable to attend your consultation.
You may cancel up to three sessions per calendar year at no charge, provided you give me 48 hours' notice.
If you cancel more than three sessions for any reason, or if you cancel late (i.e., within 48 hours of the session), the full fee will be due at the time of your regular session.
Instead of canceling, you can reschedule the session or attend via teletherapy if you usually consult in person.
If I am absent for any reason, the session will not be billed. I inform the people I work with well in advance of the dates scheduled for my annual leave.
This cancellation policy is due to the specific nature of this work, which requires regular attendance. The number of available appointments is limited, and it is not possible to replace appointments canceled at the last minute.
What is a projective assessment, and could it be right for me?
A projective assessment is a way of exploring our subjectivity using projective tools, including the Rorschach and Thematic Apperception Test (TAT).
These tools invite us to respond to neutral or ambiguous stimuli in order to better understand our inner world at a particular moment in our lives. They are not designed as definitive personality tests aimed at categorizing us.
A complete assessment consists of four sessions: an initial consultation, two sessions using the tools, and a final session to discuss the results. I use standardized scoring protocols to evaluate the projective tools.
What is group therapy and could it be beneficial for me?
While individual therapy has the advantage of allowing us to explore our inner lives, sharing our thoughts and feelings with others in similar situations or with similar symptoms can help us feel less alone and provide additional support that individual therapy cannot offer.
I offer therapy groups based on the needs and requests of the people who consult me.
